This tutorial demonstrates how to submit a linked assignment in Blackboard. An assignment of this type is indicated by a parchment icon next to the assignment title. We are in the Course Welcome Module in the CIS 100 class. The Practice Assignment is a linked assignment -- notice the parchment icon. Read the assignment instructions carefully. To work on the assignment, click on the link that begins with "View/Complete...". The Upload Assignment page displays. Read the assignment information again. Notice the Comments area. Unless your Instructor directs you to submit a file, scroll down and type your work directly in the Comments area. Sometimes you will be asked to submit your work in a file such as a Word document (.doc) Rich Text File (.rtf) or text file (.txt). If you are asked to submit or attach a file, click the Browse button to locate your file. Note: in this example we are not attaching a file. To submit your assignment, scroll down and click the Submit button. This page confirms that you have successfully submitted your assignment. Click OK to continue. To check or view an assignment after you submit it, click on the "View/Complete..." link. Click OK to display your assignment. Scroll down to view your work and check if it has been evaluated by your Instructor. The "!" next to the Grade area means that your assignment has not yet been evaluated. After your Instructor has evaluated your work, you will see the grade here. In this case, the assignment has not yet been evaluated. The student should check again later to view their grade and instructor feedback. Click OK to exit the assignment. Click OK to continue. ****************** Your instructor may post an announcement indicating that assignments have been evaluated. To check your assignment, click on the "View/Complete..." link. Click OK to display your assignment. Scroll down to view the Grade and Instructor's Comments. The student has earned five points and there are comments to read. Sometimes an Instructor will also attach a file for studnets to download. Click OK to exit the assignment. You have completed this tutorial. Susan Student I use the computer to do send e-mail.
