Using Blackboard: Log In to Blackboard
The URL or Web address of Harper's Blackboard is http://harper.blackboard.com.
Visit http://harper.blackboard.com and follow the instructions below to log in with your Username and Password.Your Username and Password allow you to access all your Blackboard course sites.
Step 1: Determine Your Username
Your User Name is the same as your login
to the Harper Student Portal. It is typically
the first initial of your first name, an
underscore, and your entire last name.
Note: You may also have a number added
right after your last name if you have the
same first initial and last name as someone
else attending Harper College.
Check https://student-self-service.harpercollege.edu/idlookup/MainPage.jsp to
find your exact login if you are not sure what it is.
Example: m_ smith13 is Martha Smith’s User Name. She has the number 13
added to the end of her last name because there are twelve other students
attending the College who also have the same initials.
Step 2: Determine Your Password
Your initial Password is your birth date in
the MMDDYY format.
Example: 032589 is Martha Smith’s
initial Password because her birthday is
March 25, 1989.
Step 3: Click the Login Button
Click the Login button.
Step 4: The Blackboard Welcome Page
Your Blackboard Welcome page will now display. A sample page is shown below.
Expect your Welcome page to look different. It will show the Announcements and Course Links for courses you are enrolled in. View the "My Courses" area on the right and click on a course name to join your course. If the course you expect to see is not listed, you may need to self-enroll in the course.
