This tutorial demonstrates the Blackboard Messages feature. The Messages feature allows you, your Instructor, and your fellow students to send and receive messages without using e-mail. In this sample course, a direct link to Messages is found in the left navigation area. You also may find the Messages feature in the Communication area. It's possible that your instructor may choose not to use the Messages feature. Let's explore the Messages feature in this sample course. Select Messages. The Inbox folder contains messages that have been sent to you. The Sent folder contains messages that you have sent. Select the Inbox link to view your messages. There is a message for you. Click the Subject to view the message. Click Reply if you'd like to respond to the message. Scroll down to type your message. Click the Submit button to send your message. Click OK. Click OK. Your Messages area displays. To send a new message, click "New Message". Click the "To" button to see a list that includes your Instructor and other students in the course. This is a sample course and there is only one student. To send a message to the instructor, select the Instructor's name and click the Right Arrow. Type a subject and message content. Click Submit.
